Mr. Springerley's research helped Smith County officials find extremely historic and valuable documents that had been lost in the archives for decades. The documents were digitized, and the originals were donated to the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
As an expert on local government law, Mr. Springerley coauthored a peer-reviewed article addressing First Amendment rights during meetings of governing bodies.
Mr. Springerley's many years of experience as a government lawyer led him to run for county attorney in Williamson County in 2020 where he obtained 47 percent of the vote in the general election. Although the race itself was lost, it was an important public service to ask questions from current leadership and give voters options at the ballot box. It was an honor to have over 125,000 voters support this effort.
Mr. Springerley is a regular contributor to radio programs discussing various legal topics.
